If you really want to test your abilities with a shotgun you have got to give this game a try. Five-Stand shooting, which we began last year has become one of the most popular shooting events offered at the club. We have now expanded the Five-Stand to include eight machines, which has added a whole new dimension to the shooting combinations. This winter has been a great season for our youth program. Our young shooters have been participating monthly both locally at our club and at the Game and Fish Scholastic Clay shoots statewide. These youngsters have been representing our club and community well. This past summer four of our young athletes helped to represent the Arizona Scholastic Clay Target Program at the National Shoot in Sparta Illinois. Many of the current athletes are now participating in the 2010 state Commissioners Cups Championships. Our thanks to the club members/coaches (Doc Horine, Greg Schnepp, Mark Cromos, Jerry Johnson, Sandy Short, Mary Beth Johnson, Brad Edgington, Greg Schimmel, Mike Ashcraft, Mike Thrasher, Kendell Hughes,Bill Herron and Pat Maine and Tom Johnson) and parents who have shown up regularly to introduce the kids to shotgun shooting sports. We especially want to thank the Arizona Game and Fish Department for their substantial financial support that is required to operate this program.
